2. Hosting & Server Log Files
This website is hosted on a web server. When you access any page, the web server automatically records certain technical data in log files. This includes your IP address (anonymised or in full, depending on server configuration), date and time of the request, the URL accessed, the HTTP status code, the amount of data transferred, and the referring URL and browser user agent where transmitted by your browser.
This data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a stable and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are retained for a limited period (typically 7–30 days) and then deleted or anonymised.
3. Google Fonts
This site uses Google Fonts (Cormorant Garamond and DM Sans) loaded from Google's servers. When a page is loaded, your browser establishes a connection to Google's servers, which may transmit your IP address. We use the fonts to ensure a consistent and readable visual presentation. 4. Cookies & Tracking
ItalyGreeceFerry.com does not set any tracking or analytics cookies of its own. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar first-party tracking tools. Third-party services integrated into the site (see sections 5 and 6 below) may set their own cookies when you interact with them; please refer to those providers' privacy policies.
5. Affiliate Links – DirectFerries & Awin
Ferry booking links on this site lead to DirectFerries (Direct Ferries Ltd, registered in England and Wales), which operates the booking engine and processes payment and booking data independently. The affiliate programme is managed through the Awin network. When you click an affiliate link, a redirect to the DirectFerries or Awin platform occurs. These providers may set cookies to track the referral and attribute any resulting commission. We do not receive your payment or personal booking details.

6. Stay22 – Hotel & Accommodation Widget
Certain pages display accommodation recommendations via a widget or API integration provided by Stay22 Inc. (Canada). When you interact with the widget or click a hotel link, your browser may communicate directly with Stay22 servers, and Stay22 or its sub-partners (booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo, etc.) may set cookies. We do not receive your accommodation booking or payment details.

7. Ferry Search Function
When you use the live ferry search on this site, your search parameters (route, date, passenger count, vehicle type) are forwarded to the DirectFerries API via a server-side proxy on our web server. Your IP address is temporarily processed on our server in order to forward the request; it is not stored beyond the normal server log retention described in section 2. The results are displayed directly on this site; the actual booking takes place on DirectFerries' platform.
7a. Ferry price alert (email)
If you sign up for the ferry price alert, we send you emails about price drops, new season fares and timetable changes on your route. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Sign-up uses the double opt-in procedure: you receive a confirmation email, and we only add you after you click the link. We log the time and IP address of the sign-up and of the confirmation so that we can prove your consent. We store your email address, the portal, the selected route, the language and the time of sign-up.
Emails are sent through Brevo, a service of Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany. The servers are in the EU, and we have a data processing agreement with the provider. You can withdraw your consent at any time: with the unsubscribe link in every email or by email to the address in the legal notice. We keep your data until you withdraw your consent.
The box in the search results does not set any cookies. After you sign up, your browser remembers locally that you have subscribed. This information does not leave your device. We count anonymously whether the box was seen and used (no email address, no identifier).

As a data subject, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
